...borrowed the Nikon D7000 again and added my 70-200mm f/2.8 to shoot the Suburban Legends live @ Disneyland! This time I used a cheap monopod to keep it a bit more steady than before... I couldn't go very wide with the combo of camera and lens (so I am zoomed in a lot), but I think the results are fantastic... this was taken on April 27, 2012 @ Disneyland's "Tomorrowland Terrace"... Suburban Legends is a great live band to see if you ever get the chance...!

Teaser for jazz/cabaret singer Shepley Metcalf's "Can You Surry? The Songs of Laura Nyro" show debuting on May 22, 2012 at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston, with music director Tom LaMark on piano, Chris Rathbun on bass, and Yoron Israel on drums and special guests Maury Martin on clarinet and sax, and Elaine DeLorenzo and LIz Costa on vocals. The show is also booked at the Metropolitan Room in New York City on November 1 and November 10, 2012, with Janice Friedman on piano, Jim Whitney on bass, and Willard Dyson on drums. Laura Nyro (1947-1997) was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012. Called "one of the most important singer/songwriters of the '60s and '70s" (Rolling Stone), Nyro fused elements of soul, folk, jazz and Broadway tradition to create her unique sound. Her albums earned her a devoted following, and many of her songs (And When I Die, Stoned Soul Picnic, Eli's Coming, Wedding Bell Blues) became huge hits for other performers. As a long-time fan ! of Nyro's work, Metcalf decided to take a detour from her usual American Songbook repertoire to create this show. GOI polishing paste Perhaps the most popular polishing agent is GOI polishing paste because it can be used on different surfaces from rough metals to soft plastics of cell phone screens. GOI stands for State optical institute (from Russian), that is an establishment where such a useful product were developed. Paste is generally produced as light or dark green bars. Color depends on percentage of chromium oxide powder that forms the polishing basis of paste. At once it should be noticed that depending on abrasive particles size paste has four classification numbers: No. 4 is a rough paste, it removes scratches well, No. 3 is medium, it adds weak luster, No.1 and No. 2 are fine, they add high luster to surfaces. GOI paste No. 2 has obtained the widest circulation because it's ideal for polishing jewelry as well as other different surfaces made of colored metal, hard plastics, polymers and glass. Paste should be put on a polishing disk. When polishing by hand you should smear p! olishing cloth, better soft, with it. Felted cloth is the best for metal surfaces, cotton cloth -- for plastics. It's not recommended to put paste on an object to be polished. After putting paste on cloth we should smear it on a surface and then polish a thing to a necessary luster. A lot of handymen dissolve paste with petrol on cloth surface and even add oil while polishing for reaching better results. Conway's own material, often compared to Dean Martin and other Traditional American Pop stars of the 1950's, was characterized by an intimate and silky vocal quality with simple yet elegant piano-centric arrangements that occasionally featured horns and small string ensembles.
