I Should Not Be Seeing You (1954) - Connie Conway Prolific songwriter and performer Connie Conway co-owned Arizona's MCI records, who released what was to become the first top 10 hit out of Arizona, Sanford Clark's "The Fool" (written by Lee Hazlewood). Conway's own material, often compared to Dean Martin and other Traditional American Pop stars of the 1950's, was characterized by an intimate and silky vocal quality with simple yet elegant piano-centric arrangements that occasionally featured horns and small string ensembles. Recorded at Ramsey's Audio Recorders Studio in Central Phoenix, this 1954 gem is a great example of that quintessential Rat Pack-esque sound that bridged the gap between the Big Band and Early Rock and Roll eras.
